I’ve seen massive changes in broadcast since I answered a box numbered ad leading to my very first job. Back then there were just three analogue channels, typewriters rather than computers and ‘mobile’ phones were used to prop doors open.

There are a couple of great schemes running which if you are keen to work in the industry are well worth considering. The closing dates are coming up soon so make sure you share details with any young people you think may be interested.

 

  1. The BBC run technology apprenticeship schemes which lead to a degree and first rate training with leading broadcasters. The deadline for applications for either their business or technology schemes is midnight, Jan 6th and this video explains more. The production and journalism schemes open in March.
